A first trip to Japan in eight days works best with a small number of bases and clear priorities. Let’s Travel's Samurai route uses Tokyo and Osaka as overnight bases and includes Kyoto as an excursion from Osaka. This lets you experience different settings without changing hotels every night.

Before choosing, distinguish the tour's duration from the length of your vacation. The eight days begin with arrival in Japan and end with departure; flights from your home country may require additional time.

FOUR NIGHTS IN TOKYO

The program spends the first four nights in Tokyo. This allows a combination of scheduled visits and personal time, but read each day's details: a hotel night does not imply a guided excursion throughout the following day.

To make the most of free time, group your interests by area. If you want to enter a museum, visit a particular shop or book a food experience, check its location and opening hours before adding it to your plans. Allow time to find your way around and return to the hotel.

Arrival is a good time to handle practical matters: internet access, the hotel's location and the meeting point for your first visit. Avoid committing to a timed-entry activity immediately after landing.

OSAKA AS YOUR SECOND BASE

Day five includes the journey from Tokyo to Osaka. You spend the remaining three nights in Osaka, with the Osaka–Kyoto–Osaka excursion on day seven.

This arrangement allows you to visit Kyoto without moving your luggage to another hotel. However, a day trip covers a selection of places. If Kyoto's temples and neighborhoods are your main interest, ask about extending your stay rather than assuming you can explore the whole city during that visit.

Before booking, confirm how the Tokyo–Osaka journey operates, which ticket is included and the baggage conditions. Seeing two consecutive cities on an itinerary does not settle all these details.

WHAT A SPANISH-SPEAKING GUIDE MEANS

Samurai's description provides for a local Spanish-speaking guide during visits and three days of excursions. Transport also depends on participant numbers: a bus or minibus is planned for four or more passengers; urban trains are used for up to three.

Airport transfers are described as using an English-speaking driver. Ask for the service breakdown and assistance contacts if you need Spanish-language support from arrival. Guided visits in Spanish do not mean you have a permanent escort throughout the tour.

BUDGET AND FREE TIME

Accommodation includes breakfast, while international flights, additional meals, insurance and optional activities are among the items to consider separately. Request a budget that also identifies applicable taxes and local expenses for your departure.

Are eight days enough? They can provide an introduction to these three cities if you are comfortable with a selective itinerary. If you prefer several full days in each, ask about an extension and compare its cost before buying flights.
